The worlds only international surf and environmental film festival is back and stopping off at Harbord Hotel!
Save The Waves Film Festival 2024 is an international film tour that continues and brings alive the conversation about the climate, our ocean and surfing. The tour raises money towards environmental efforts to protect surf ecosystems.
Watch and be inspired by stories from those on the frontlines of coastal protection. We will be showcasing the feature film ‘Place of Thorns’ by Alan van Gysen and Will Bendix. The film tells the story of one of the world’s most incredible waves, Puerto Escondido, from its discovery by early pioneers when it was just a small fishing village, to the bustling tourist mecca it has become today.
We’ll have a Q&A, special guests and prizes on the night including a $600 O’Neill wetsuit to giveaway! Proceeds from the night go towards Manly Freshwater World Surfing Reserve and Surfrider Foundation Australia.
