CHATS WITH BETTY TAYLOR
We’re kicking of Homegrown at Harbord for the year with a bang. We had a chat with our first headliner, Betty Taylor, to chat all things local live music. The four-piece band, hailing from the Sunshine Coast, have quickly become one of Australia’s best up-and-coming bands. Their debut song ‘Stallin”, premiered on Triple J and has now amassed over 450 thousand listens on Spotify. They’ll be one to keep an eye on, don’t miss their gig at Harbord on Friday 31 January.

It takes years, even decades of hard work to become an “overnight” success.
Where do you go to find/seek inspiration?
We are so inspired by all the amazing people and bands we’ve met over the last couple years. We’ve made some great mates who are doing some amazing things!

Lustre by The Buoys has been on repeat for the last 6 months, I literally love it and them so much.
Warm up routine – tell us a little about how you like to warm up before a gig.
Not sure if it’s a routine or a ritual haha but we always sing ‘Roll up your sleeves – Meg Mac’ before every single show.

Margaritas! In Margaritaville, we don’t waste away… we thrive.
TRAVEL LIST – WHERE DO YOU WANT TO TRAVEL TO NEXT AND WHY?
We’ve been dreaming of heading to the States! Could also happily head back to Ireland for a Guinness any day of week.
