Tracks party 2025

TRACKS PARTY AT HARBORD HOTEL

Tracks parties are back again, in the lead up to the upcoming slew of the biggest surfing competitions in Australia. We’re expecting all the usual Tracks-style madness, epic tunes, wild vibes & just a dam good time.
Tracks Parties have ingrained itself into Aussie surf culture, providing a seamless blend of DJ’s, live bands, performers, pro surfers and prize give-aways. The party gets wild, the night melting into wild dance-offs, hectic mosh pits & sing alongs. And if you were lucky enough to go to our last Tracks party, you’ll know what we’re talking about…

Check out some of the hectic snaps from last year.

For this year’s stop off at Harbord, we’ve got a line-up of high energy Aussie acts ready to reinforce the power of a good Tracks party.

Hailing from the coastal alleyways of a steel city, we’ve got headliner Rum Jungle. They’re prepped to bring you gritty alt-rock anthems, heartfelt ballads, and everything in between. That’s not it, the night will be warmed up by special guests The Good Kids, Headsend & Ah Honey.

Aint That Swell’s Jed Smith, the larrikin voice of surf culture, will be here to host the madness, guaranteeing a heap of shenanigans.

We chatted with Rum Jungle to get their peace on why their keen to headline this Sunday, as well as their current tunes on strict high rotation. Have a read below for all the tid bits.

TELL US MORE ABOUT WHY YOU’RE EXCITED TO HEADLINE THE TRACKS PARTY AT HARBORD HOTEL

Top tier venue with some sick artists playing right on the water is always a recipe for a good night.

NAME YOUR TOP 3 FAV AUSSIE ARTISTS RIGHT NOW?

Grogans, Bean Mag and Dust.

SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT THE AUSSIE MUSIC INDUSTRY?

At almost every Australian festival there’s always 2 bands that end up wrestling each other back stage and it’s usually us that starts it

WHERE DO YOU GO TO FIND/SEEK INSPIRATION?

The beach, the shuffle button on my Spotify or just looking out the window of the tour van driving to some random location, somewhere in the world to play a show.

EARWORM – WHAT SONG CAN’T YOU GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD?

Don’t You Die – Bean Mag. That main lyric gets stuck in my head for days on end.

HIGH ROTATION – WHAT ALBUM ARE YOU VIBING RIGHT NOW?

I (Josh) only just discovered Neutral Milk Hotel’s ‘In the Aeroplane Over the Sea’ and I honestly haven’t listened to any other music for the last 4 days.

WARM UP ROUTINE – TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT HOW YOU LIKE TO WARM UP BEFORE A GIG.

Our 5 min vocal warm up is usually accompanied by some shots of Fireball and just before we go on stage we hug and tell each other we love each other.

WHERE’D THE NAME RUM JUNGLE COME FROM?

Benny was going through his Dad’s shed looking for a microphone stand when he came across an old band poster of his Dad’s band from the 70’s called ‘Rum Jungle’. The rest is history.

WHERE WAS YOUR CRAZIEST OR MOST MEMORABLE GIG?

Village Underground in London. Our biggest show we had put on ourselves to date at the time and it was on the other side of the world. Will never get over that one.

TOP 3 TRACKS RIGHT NOW?

Two Headed Boy – Neutral Milk Hotel

All I Want – Joni Mitchell
